Window on the World
With the move away from "always on" ranges, which require high
efficiency insulation to reduce the heat transfer from the oven cavity into the
kitchens of the manicured, surgically enhanced, indulged and vacuous
rich.....(take a breath), AGA is now free to add low efficiency windows to their
modern ranges.
An option on all "Legacy" models.

Worlds Largest and Most Expensive Rival Crock Pot
AGA introduced a new range, functionally and aesthetically identical to AGA's
gas units but electrically powered. The insulation and efficiency of the
AGA design is such that it draws only 13Amps from a standard 20Amp wall
circuit. 13Amp, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year until you
die. The pre-heat time for the oven or top is 6 hours, heaven forbid the
unit is shut down or looses power. This misfortune befell AGA themselves
as their Kitchen and Bath live kitchen was inadvertently shut down the prior
night derailing their morning demonstrations until the following afternoon. If
you are a liker of the gas unit you'll be a liker of the electric unit. If
you are conscious, are not a ward of the state or some other guardianship,
and/or are not being withheld care based on a DNR then it is safe to assume that
you see the problems of a 6 hour heat up time to boil an egg. By the time
you can make breakfast, you have already missed lunch.

Dueling Discount Dual Fuels
AGA continues to expand its line of faux AGA ranges, with 2 new sizes and oven
layouts. The two units feature standard gas flame tops and electric ovens
within the aesthetic design of AGA's old "always on" units.
The 36" unit features 5 gas electronic ignition burners with 5K to 15K BTU,
and includes a wok burner.
The 44" unit (always a popular width??) features 6 burners (an additional
15K BTU)..
Both units feature 3 electric ovens: 1 multi-function oven, 1
baking oven, and 1 broiling oven. The 44" gets a 4th cavity below for
storage.
Why buy this? The AGA website says that this is a good choice for someone
watching their pennies.
"You would have to spend thousands more on a 48" or 60"
professional duel-fuel range to match this unparalleled cooking capability."
36" MSRP is $4275. 44" MSRP is $4900

Always-On Refrigerators
Leveraging their new acquisitions (Marvel and Northland) AGA will launch wine coolers and ice
makers under the AGA brand. Pins and needles, I tell you!! I feel tingly
all over, hardly able to wait for these products to hit the market.

AGA Shows Competitive Game With a Dual Fuel Six-Four Series
For those who haven't been paying attention, AGA is slowly executing a strategy
which shows their
ambitions are not limited by their technological legacy. The new 39-3/8" 6-4 features 4
independently controlled electric ovens and
6 non-AGA type gas burners powered either by natural gas or propane. Includes 20.5K BTU wok
double burner with a simmer setting of 0.650K BTU, and (1) 17K BTU, (2)
11K BTU, and (2) 6.5K BTU burners. "The Six-Four is designed to
appeal to the audience that aspires to own an AGA for its design and
construction, but who prefer to cook using more traditional methods".
Including none of AGA's legacy technology, and from a company with no reputation
for traditional appliances, this unit, at an MSRP of $7000 is not targeted at enthusiasts
but at braggarts who are likely overwhelmed
making Campbell Soup. Available in 14 colors.

A Sometimes "on" AGA for Rich Folks With As Much Sense as Cents.
The new 36" AGA Cookmaster type classic all gas unit uses a timer to turn the oven
on before you get home thereby reducing energy usage. The AGA home is
stuffy enough place without the addition of a 24 hour kitchen furnace. The unit includes
(1) hotplate which can hold up to 5
saucepans, a roasting/baking oven and a simmering/warming oven. Unlike AGA's
other models this 719 lb. unit arrives at your home assembled, avoiding the 12 hour assembly time
(AGA estimate) required for their other classic ranges. MSRP of $6350.
AGA installers are actually bred for their positions.

A Sometimes "off" AGA for Poor Folks With Money
The new 24-1/2" wide "Companion" range has standard gas
surface burners and 2 electric ovens and is controlled with mechanical knobs
like any other range. There are (4) surface burners: (2) at 6K BTU (1) at 11K BTU,
and (1) 12K BTU. This unit is a complete change from the AGA
philosophy of "always on" slow cooking. Why? They
say, "…the Companion can easily handle all of your summertime cooking
needs". An admission that the regular AGA can make the kitchen
furnace-like. Obviously this unit also satisfies the needs of the space
starved snooty-set, though only in kitchen remodels. A 24.5" unit
won't replace another maker's 24" unit.

New Colors
The maker of nutty "always on" ranges adds another color. We do not
know why we are including them here.
