The New Appliance Report from ApplianceAdvisor.com

FCI (aka Fulgor Cooking Industries)
800-926-2032
Italian OEM Maker of Ovens

2006 Kitchen & Bath Show Introductions
Since we can't yet tell if FCI really plans on becoming more than an OEM brand, we'll dance lightly through these models.

New 36" Gas Cooktop
Features 5 sealed burners: 18K (500 simmer), 15K, 9K, 9K, 4K BTU.  Re-ignition,  Continuous cast iron
aesthetically displeasing grates.

New 36" Radiant Cooktop
Same layout as the gas cooktop, but in radiant, models ECCB and TCCB would easily be the best looking radiant cooktop on the market.  The 36" features 5 fast reacting heating elements: (2) 6” - 1200W, (1) 7” - 1800W, a dual zone 6”/ 9” - 2500W and a dual zone 8”/ 11” - 2700W with electromechanical controls.  Perhaps we are terribly old fashioned, but we just hate touch controls.  Touch controls lack a feeling of accomplishment, lacks tactile feedback with of buttons or knobs, and of course make the cooktop a bloody fingerprint covered mess.  Why do consumers go for touch controls?  Consumers are idiots, or at least irrational, making buying decisions based on what they think others will think of them, and less on a critical reflection of one's own needs and wants.

2005 Kitchen & Bath Show Introductions
ApplianceAdvisor.com welcomes Fulgor to KBIS.  Fulgor is famed for being the OEM supplier of the GE Monogram and the Bosch built-in ovens.  Ovens that were designed for Americans with our stupendous Thanksgiving turkeys and not Europeans who bake one or two rabbit legs a year.  Fulgor is launching under the FCI brand but hell if we know why.
