Just a Itty Bitty Piece of the American Dream
A pro-style 24" range for the urban apartment dweller in the Northeast, and perhaps highly successful manufactured home residents in the Southeast. Includes features of its larger siblings of open burners with 400 to 14K BTU (the optional sealed burners give 1200 to 14K BTU), convection oven, and wok ring. Standard grates may be upgraded with the purchase of heavy-duty continuous grates. Options include brass trim and portable griddle. Five Star normally uses 430 stainless steel construction. Also has the "Exclusive gas broiler … which allows you to bake and broil at the same time". The broiler is in the bottom kickplate area and can be used simultaneously with the main oven as long as you can live with same burner level. Our research found this feature to be "Exclusive" to Five Star…..and Peerless, and GE, and Maytag, and Electrolux and………). I inquired with FiveStar. Five Star said that "exclusive" is in terms of Pro-Style ranges only.

Stovetop BBQ Accessory
"Convert a Grill", rangetop grilling accessory for use on griddle equipped ranges and cooktops. Simply pop out the griddle and pop in this grill accessory. The accessory is made up of porcelain coated dishwasher safe components. Five Star promises faster and more even cooking than briquette based BBQ. Certainly sounds clever. Five Star claims that this feature is exclusive to Pro-style ranges. We didn't probe too deeply on this one.
