2006 Kitchen & Bath Show Introductions
Kuppersbusch followed a decidedly low key strategy this year, sharing their small booth with their parent TEKA, a maker of sinks.  Sinks are a half step above knob manufacturer's in the KBIS food chain, but oh so far below cooking appliances.

This is the "Sirius" machine which we discussed on the Sirius page in 2003.  Click below for our thoughts then.  They have not changed.

Induction Wok Top
This is a niche of a niche of a niche.  This is a 18" x 20" ceran topped single element wok cooktop with a wok shaped concave ceran divot for the wok pot.  Features 3500W induction system, touch sensor controls, pan detection, child safety lock and accessory wok pan.  The unit has an MSRP of $3800.  We imagine that the accessory wok pan is somewhat of a requirement for a good fit to the cooktop.  It seems crazy to sell  $3800 wok top and then to hit them up for the wok pot.  True wok cooking is a physical affair with energetic tossing of the food and wok.  This is probably not a good idea on a ceran top......particularly a $3800 one.  Induction is safer than gas, and this is one of its greatest benefits.  Is a 3500W induction system adequate for wok cooking?  We can't answer that question.  In the end, we suggest you not be the first one on your block.

2002 Kitchen & Bath Show Introductions
The 2002 show marked the introduction of Kuppersbusch to the United States.  Ovens, modular and non-modular ceran cooktops, Euro-hoods, all with the distinctively styled European look Kuppersbusch is famous for.  We look forward to seeing them at future shows.  For a complete description of the products now available in the U.S., be sure to visit their website by following the link above.
