2006 Kitchen & Bath Show Introductions
AGA folded its brands Marvel and Northland (except La Cornue) into the AGA KBIS
booth. They saved big bucks on KBIS costs and attempted, with great difficulty and
only partial success of turning an unholy chimera into a family even the Queen can
be proud of....and we all know the Queen's high standards for familial harmony.
A few of things Marvel claimed were new this year.

New Even Larger Outdoor Icemaker (Model 3OiM-SS-F)
It is when products like these are being launched that I feel that I am not
qualified to rate appliances. Certainly the people who have located a 35
lb per day stainless steel ice maker outside of their home cannot be the
flying **&#$%-heads that I believe them to be. How often can one actually
need 35 lbs of ice in one day to have it make sense to own one of these things
running 24 - 7 outside, over there on the deck? I think that I am going to
"up" my medication. Retails
for over $2200.

New "Clear Ice" Style Ice Maker for
Indoor or Outdoor Use
Why insult your guests with foggy ice,
when high density, and optically perfect clear ice is available from Marvel? An
added benefit is that clear ice is denser, floats lower in the drink, thereby
reducing the amount of drinkable fluid (alcohol) that can be held in each glass.
Lower your cost of entertaining simply by changing your cubes. We at the Advisor
would not be surprised if the "clear ice" style ice maker paid for
itself after just 1 or 2 parties.
