RE: Electrolux 2008
I just returned from the recent IBIS Show in Orlando and have been quite impressed at the new Appliance line-up that I saw. Yes, Electrolux has finally put on the gloves to go head on with : GE Monogram, Whirlpool, and yes, BSH on some cutting edge products that will make everybody take notice, The items have a great styling that even surpasses "Icon" The new "MRP" will be used for Electrolux as well as ICON to help control those Retailers who love to bastardize pricing ( 9-10% G.P on lower -end Standard Builder packages. ), especially those Retailers who try and attack Builder Projects and end up causing issues (They know who they are -especially in Chicago !!) MRP (This is what Electrolux will now call it) will hopefully help control pricing while elevating the new Premium line to uphold the name in the same fashion as Viking/Sub-zero etc. More power to Electrolux!

Electrolux has really done their homework with some exciting features and products including a new 24" Refrigerator drawer, Hybrid-Induction Cooktops, 42-45 db Dishwasher (Watch out Bosch!) new wine coolers + Bev Center, etc. No laundry as of yet.....

The frosting is well done which will really turn heads:

* OVENS               -Cobalt Blue interiors, Wave Touch controls, Ramp-up lighting, Glide-racks for the ovens and new Turkey button
* FRIDGES            -New S/S Counter-depth or non-Counter-depth, New Drawers style unit!!!
* DISHWASHER    -1 model only, precision control, stainless interiors, new leak detection system
* FREE STANDING -Same features as ovens, 1- Dual-Fuel (w/2nd oven), 2- Gas/2- Electric, 18,00 BTU - 450 BTU on the gas models.
* OTR/ B.I Microwave- just 1 each, 1200 watts, 2.1 cu.- No turntable
* WINE COOLERS    -(2) 144 Bottle & Mack Daddy- 160 European wine tower
* BEV CENTER        - 24" w/integrated controls

Electrolux may not have launched ICON the way we wanted , but the gloves have been put on and they are ready to do some damage. Next good peep will be at KBIS- Chicago in April.
I am impressed!!

NOTE from Advisor:  This glowing account of the Electrolux launch obviously comes from someone in the industry, who, or in what capacity, we do not know.
